2018 Field Tours

Guided field tours of the landscape and resource management in the northwest portion of Alberta, and possibly the northeast of British Columbia are being planned to complement the conference theme and to observe the beauty and possibilities in the surrounding areas.

PRE-CONFERENCE TOUR

This tour includes visiting sites in the Hinton and Jasper areas.

IN-CONFERENCE TOURS

There will be four exciting field tours in and around Grande Prairie area, including:

  • Evergreen Park and the County of Grande Prairie (MPB, Fire Smart)
  • Weyerhaeuser reforestation site and an additional reclamation site
  • Deciduous and Coniferous Tree Improvement sites, and Regeneration Standards of Alberta demonstration
  • Dinosaur Museum and bone beds/Tumbler World Geo Park

POST-CONFERENCE TOUR

This tour will visit the Whitecourt area and the Forest Interpretive Centre, including Mountain Pine Beetle and the Caribou issues.
