Guided field tours of the landscape and resource management

...in the northwest portion of Alberta, and possibly the northeast of British Columbia are being planned to complement the conference theme and to observe the beauty and possibilities in the surrounding areas.

PRE-CONFERENCE TOUR

Experience a scenic drive though the Canadian Rockies! This tour will explore sites in the Hinton and Jasper National Park areas focusing on silviculture, pest management, climate change, fire, and healthy landscapes, all of which affect grizzly bear and caribou populations.

IN-CONFERENCE TOURS*

There will be four exciting field tours in and around Grande Prairie area, including:

  • Land Use Innovation and Sustainability
  • Reclamation of Oil and Gas Sites
  • Tree Improvement, Regeneration Standards and Projecting Mean Annual Increment
  • Dinosaur Museum and Bone Beds

POST-CONFERENCE TOUR*

This tour will visit the Whitecourt area and the Forest Interpretive Centre, including Mountain Pine Beetle and the Caribou issues.
