Kenora Sign-2Kenora, originally named Rat Portage, is a small city (a population of 15,841) that sits directly beside Lake of the Woods in Northwestern Ontario. It is a premier boating and fishing destination, connecting visitors to Lake of the Woods and its 14,522 islands. The Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre provides tourism services and unique experiences to discover the Lake of the Woods region. Travel

Kenora AiportThe pre-conference tour will be departing from Winnipeg on the morning of September 14th. A shuttle bus will be available to take delegates back to Winnipeg on the morning of September 18th.

For those who would like to participate in the post-conference tour from Kenora to Thunder Bay, air travel will be available out of the Thunder Bay International Airport on September 19th. A shuttle bus will be available to transport post-conference tour participants from Thunder Bay to Kenora on Monday September 14th.

The City of Kenora also has a small airport with flights available through Bearskin Airlines.

Hotels

Lakeside InnBook your room at the conference venue! The Kenora Lakeside Inn has offered conference delegates a reduced rate of $124.00/night.  Reservations must be made by June 30, 2015. To book, contact the Lakeside Inn (1-800-465-1120) and give them the group code ‘Forestry’.

Rooms may also be booked at the Kenora Comfort Inn at a discounted rate of $107.00, which includes breakfast. Rooms at the Comfort Inn must be booked by September 1st, 2015. To book, contact the Comfort Inn (807-468-8845) and let them know you are with the ‘Canadian Institute of Forestry’ group.

Rooms are also available to conference delegates at the Travelodge Kenora. Rooms must be booked by June 30th, 2015. To book, contact the Travelodge (1-800-465-1127) and let them know you are with the ‘Canadian Institute of Forestry’ group.
