The Demo International Conference was held in Vancouver, British Columbia in September, 2016 by the Canadian Woodlands Forum, UBC’s Faculty of Forestry, the Council on Forest Engineering, the CIF-IFC and FPInnovations.
Throughout the conference over 65 concurrent sessions were hosted, with experts and world-class speakers weighing in on current forestry research, practices, and policies to support the conference theme of: “Canada’s Forest Sector Adapting To A New Reality; Technology And Innovation As A Catalyst For Success”. The conference hosted over 320 delegates, including over 90 students, visiting from all corners of North America and abroad. Some conference highlights included the CIF & COFE Awards Banquets, a commemorative tree plant on National Tree Day in Stanley Park, a spirited CIF Student Quiz Bowl, and interesting post-conference field tours to some of the lower mainland's most intriguing forest management sites.
