What We Do
The Vancouver Section has been providing leadership, promoting professional competence and fostering public awareness in the Pacific Northwest since 1929. Members of the Vancouver Section of the CIF include forest practitioners from across the BC Lower Mainland from Metro Vancouver to Pemberton and to Hope, BC. Our section is home to the Association of BC Forest Professionals, UBC Faculty of Forestry and Malcolm-Knapp Research Forest, BC Institute of Technology, FPInnovations and the gateway to the Pacific Rim countries.
Our monthly (spring and fall) speaker series features insightful presentations on forest management and the links between the forests and community well being. Our Invited speakers bring their expertise and observations from across British Columbia, Canada, and around the world.
