http://www.rain-tree.com welcomes one to the (Amazon) tropical rain forest. I seem to recall it was set up by a Texas woman who knew that a stabilizer/cure for her cancer was to be found there, and went on a crusade to conserve that forest.
www.agroforestry.co.uk/forgndg.html introduces forest gardening, something I find truly fascinating, with possibilities for S. Ont.
A search for Habitat Leclerc in Port of Prince, Haiti gets the story of preserving and perhaps restoring 50 acres of viable forest under the most incredibly adverse conditions, as a beacon of hope if/when Haiti overcomes its state of poverty.
