FwB-FsF (www.fwb-fsf.org) is a registered Canadian charity. The initiative grew out of a desire by Canadian CIF-IFC members to use their skills and knowledge to help people reduce poverty, restore ecosystems, and increase the understanding of sustainable development of forest resources. All funds raised help support on-the-ground work in countries like Nepal, Kenya, Madagascar, Ghana, and Uganda, among others. FwB-FsF works independently or with existing non-government organizations (e.g., Rotary International) to deliver the skills, knowledge and funds that enable poverty-stricken communities worldwide to address ecosystem challenges. Many of these problems can be resolved or improved through proper forest management.
