Cariboo Teachers’ Forestry Tour

Calling all educators and teachers! Interested in learning more about forestry and the forest sector? Join us for a Teachers’ Forestry Tour hosted by the Canadian Institute of Forestry/Institut forestier du Canada (CIF-IFC), the CIF-IFC Cariboo Section, the BC Council of Forest Industries (COFI), and the College of New Caledonia (CNC).
- When: Friday, October 21, 2022- 8:00 am- 4:00 pm. Registration closes Monday, October 17, 2022 at 5:00 PM Pacific Time.
- Where: Aleza Lake Research Forest, BC, Canada. Pickup and drop-off at Prince George Secondary School.
- What: Professional Development opportunity for teachers and educators – meet professionals in the field of forest science, research and management. Learn about basic forestry concepts including sustainable forest management, Indigenous participation in forestry and the links between forests and climate change.
- Cost: FREE! The cost of this tour has been generously sponsored by the Prince George District Teachers’ Association.
Teachers and educators from all levels are welcome to attend. The tours will aim to involve a mix of presentations and hands-on learning in the field. Teachers and educators will also gain an understanding of tools and resources they can bring back to their classrooms.
Please dress for the weather to enjoy the outdoors. More information regarding the attire, what to bring, and details about the event will be provided closer to the date.
