NFW 2026 – Know your Trees, Know your Mushrooms

• Event date and time: September 18, 2026 – 10 am (PT); September 19, 2026 – 2 pm (PT)
• Event duration: about 1.5 hrs
• Event location: Beaver Lodge Forest Lands – Parking lot at the end of Trask Road off of Merecroft Road, Campbel River, BC
• Event description: Are you a picky eater? So are some mushrooms! While you might only eat bread but not rice, some mushrooms will only eat maple but not western hemlock. Some mushrooms don’t care, throw some hot sauce on it and they’ll eat anything! Come with me to the Beaver Lodge to explore the world of mushrooms, their favourite trees to eat (or to be best friends with…it’s complicated) and how to identify both. Wear your rainboots or good hiking boots regardless of the weather as we’ll be tip-toeing off the trail here and there. All abilities and ages welcome.
