Recent technological advances in the area of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) have led to affordable and flexible solutions for planning forest operations and monitoring compliance.

The Canadian Institute of Forestry, in collaboration with FPInnovations, has organized a workshop on operational block planning in forestry and UAV applications in Kenora, Ontario.

This one day workshop will provide an introduction to operational block planning in forestry, UAV technology, examine current practices from theory to operations, and highlight real world case studies. The day’s technical presentations will feature experts from FPInnovations, KBM Resources, Domtar, ForestSoil Science Ltd., and First Resource Management Group.
