Une gouvernance efficace repose sur un leadership fort et des comités qui fonctionnent bien.

 L’IFC-CIF dispose de plusieurs comités, groupes de travail et équipes qui se concentrent sur des domaines clés pour aider l’Institut à réussir.

En participant activement à un (ou plusieurs !) des différents comités de l’IFC-CIF, membres de l’IFC-CIF avez la possibilité de représenter votre section locale et de vous impliquer de manière significative.

Équipe de leadership sur la diversité, l’équité et l’inclusion

Créée en 2022, l’équipe de leadership de l’IFC-CIF sur la diversité, l’équité et l’inclusion (DEI) assure le leadership visant à faire progresser la DEI au sein de l’Institut et dans l’ensemble du secteur forestier par le biais d’actions intentionnelles et significatives. Cette équipe trouvant ses racines dans l’initiative Foresterie en croissance libre vise à réaliser l’équité entre les genres et l’inclusion significative des groupes en quête d’équité.

2nd Vice President Nomination Committee

In accordance with the CIF-IFC General Operating Bylaw No. 1, Section 7.02, the Nominations Committee advertises and identifies quality candidates for the position of 2nd Vice President. The successful candidate for the 2nd Vice President enters the CIF-IFC Executive Committee Succession strategy (a 4-year commitment) which leads annually to the positions of Vice-President, President and Past President.

Finance and Audit Committee

The Finance and Audit Committee, is an advisory team to help the Executive Director fulfill the financial responsibilities of the Institute. The Committee reviews financial and administrative matters of the Institute and provides feedback to the Executive Director.

Forest Advocacy Committee

The Forest Advocacy Committee aims to fulfill, in part, the mission of the CIF-IFC in being ‘the voice of forest practitioners’, and inspire confidence and pride in Canadian forestry – nationally and internationally. The Committee provides guidance on advocacy efforts and initiativesthat could be undertaken by the CIF-IFC.

Host Annual General Meeting and Conference Planning Committee

The Host Annual Gener Meeting and Conference Planning Committee (HAMPCO) is responsible for transacting the business of the Institute through an Annual General Meeting (AGM) and National Conference. The meeting is organized by a Host AGM and Conference Planning Committee established by the Host Section. The Host Section for the 2024 National Conference & 116th AGM is the Newfoundland & Labrador Section.

The National Awards Committee aims to support the nomination process of members, colleagues, and other natural resource professionals for the Institute’s National Awards Program. The Committee, in part, provides recommendations to the National Executive on current Awards and criteria, and reviews all Award nomination packages received to select recipients.

National Forest Week Poster Committee

The National Forest Week Poster Committee aims to promote Canada’s forest heritage and support greater recognition of forests as a value and renewable resource by developing the annual National Forest Week theme for promotional materials, as well as supporting CIF-IFC National Office programming and sponsorship.

The Silver Ring Task Force provides policy advice on enquiries from potential Silver Ring Program applicants; and reviews the recommendations from the Permanent Standing Committee of the Board.

Task Force on Modernizing & Revitalizing The Forestry Chronicle

In 2022, the CIF-IFC Board of Directors established a Task Force on Modernizing and Revitalizing The Forestry Chronicle to review the journal and identify areas of improvement in alignment with international best practices for open access journals.
