2018 Vancouver Island Knowledge Exchange Workshop
WORKSHOP/AGM DETAILS
On November 7, 2018, the CIF and the Vancouver Island Section hosted a successful knowledge exchange workshop and Section AGM, titled “Questioning the Resiliency of a Changing Forest – Can we prepare the Coast for new wildfire behavior and climate?” in Nanaimo, BC. The workshop took place at the Vancouver Island University.
The workshop examined recent trends in weather and wildfire behavior, and explored management options for Coastal forest practitioners, including the role of silviculture in establishing resilient future forests, able to withstand the uncertainty of a changing climate.
