The Growing Premium – Forests for Environmental Services

On February 7, 2022, the CIF-IFC National Office, in collaboration with the Central Ontario Section, hosted a virtual Winter Knowledge Exchange event titled “The Growing Premium – Forests for Environmental Services”.

The Winter Knowledge Exchange brought together forest practitioners and students to address timely topics in forestry in a student-focused setting. The theme, The Growing Premium – Forests for Environmental Services, explored how sustainable forest management can be an effective nature-based solution to minimize climate change risks to ecosystems. The need to recognize the many environmental services provided by healthy forests has never been greater, not only in Ontario but around the world. Guest speaker presentations were followed by a student-focused career discussion.

We had over 100 people tune in, hearing different perspectives on how sustainable forest management can be an effective nature-based solution to minimize climate change risks to ecosystems.

This event was made possible by a financial contribution from: Natural Resources Canada.

Big thank you to our co-host, moderators, speakers, and supporters for helping put on a successful event!
