Education Outreach Program Coordinator (National Forest Week Engagement Coordinator)

The primary goal of the National Forest Week Engagement Coordinator will be to assist in the coordination of National Forest Week (September 18-24, 2022) activities and communication materials. Each year, the CIF-IFC coordinates a national campaign with the objectives of: encouraging a greater public awareness of Canada’s forests as a valuable, renewable and green resource; challenging Canadians to learn more about the forest sector, and its significance to our culture, history, and future; and instilling pride in Canada’s forest sector. This 11-week contract position will support efforts to promote National Forest Week by engaging with stakeholders to raise awareness of Canada’s important forest legacy, forest education and sustainable forest management.

The Coast Scaling, Billing and Log Export Specialist role is part of the Coast Area Pricing Team. This position is responsible for leading the Scaling, Billing, Log Export, and Marine Log Salvage programs. The Specialist role requires expertise in timber scaling and the many complexities associated with scaling and transportation of timber within the Coast Area. This position may require field review of timber scaling and transportation activities.

The successful candidate will be required to analyze data, identify trends, and initiate business improvements which will streamline processes and improve revenue certainty from forest resources. This position requires initiating, leading, and participating in special projects related to timber pricing. The Pricing Business Analysis Forester is frequently involved with pricing policy development, stumpage rate appraisals, and analysis of cruising, scaling, waste, and billing activities. This position requires coordinating with colleagues within the Ministry and developing strong relationships with external business stakeholders throughout the Coast Region.
