Author Instructions
The Canadian Institute of Forestry/l’Institut forestier du Canada (CIF/IFC) has published The Forestry Chronicle, a professional and scientific forestry journal, since 1925.
Aim
The aim of the journal is to publish, in either English or French, research, practical applications, and perspectives on social and natural sciences that are relevant to Canadian forests and forestry.
Mission
The Forestry Chronicle is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Canadian Institute of Forestry to provide information to forest practitioners and the forest research community on the professional and scientific management of forests, their resources, and the ecosystem services they provide.
Scope
The journal is inclusive of all subject areas, geographies, and forest types, including urban environments, plantations, and natural forests where findings are relevant to Canadian forests and forestry. Economic, environmental, and social factors are all within the scope of the journal, and integrated approaches to management are encouraged. Subjects include but are not limited to biology, economics, policy, silviculture, technology development and applications, operational advancements, and Indigenous perspectives and knowledge. The journal welcomes a diversity of perspectives including professionals, experts, Indigenous knowledge holders, researchers, and students who wish to present the outcomes of innovation in managing forest resources. Contributions may include traditional research and professional articles, short papers, reviews, and perspectives. The likely impact on policy, practice, and social outcomes as well as novelty and advancement of knowledge will be considered in the decision to publish.
